Garbage Disposal Repair & Installation

A garbage disposer typically makes one of three sounds:

  • A “nyum nyum nyum” sound says, “I am eating everything,” and is its normal sound.
  • A humming sound means that it is jammed.
  • No sound means that it is no longer receiving power.

99% of the time hitting the reset button and clearing the jamb will resolve these issues.

When looking to purchase a new garbage disposer, look for one that has the ability to relieve the jamb without using a hammer or broom handle.

We always suggest using a pair of tongs to remove items from your disposer. Should the disposer accidently turn on, replacing a pair of tongs is far less expensive (and traumatizing!) than replacing fingers – humans to do not have the same regeneration capabilities as a crustacean.
